Delivering on responsible practices

We see ourselves as a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism

This policy outlines our efforts to give back to the world as it gives to us. It applies to our company and its subsidiaries and may also refer to suppliers and partners.

Our Company’s Social Responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness. Compliance refers to our Company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values and expectations. Proactiveness is every initiative to help our people and the community, and protect our natural environment.

Sustainability Review

All of our sustainability commitments are outlined in our Sustainability Review which is assessed each year as to how we have met goals and how we can improve further. We are committed to running a responsible, environmentally respectful and sustainable business.

We recognise that our supply chain, processes and products can have an impact on the environment both directly and indirectly and we work to minimise this impact.

Recycling and recycled materials

Across all of our processes, we’re striving to make responsible choices, which includes recycling when and where we can.

This includes reusing cardboard (where possible) for the dispatch of our garments and PPE and also being a part of the Hard Hat Recycling Scheme.

We’re also using recycled materials in many of our products, with some garments being made entirely from plastic bottles recovered from the ocean.

Reducing Waste

Whether it’s our optimised packaging, our reuse of materials, or our commitment to recycling, there are many ways we’re reducing our output of waste.

As a cradle-to-grave solution provider, we ensure to repurpose or donate old or unused garments. These will either be used to create new garments or be donated to those that need them.

Reducing our carbon emissions

We’re always looking for ways we can further reduce our carbon emissions.

We’ve switched to LED lighting across our warehouse, introduced electric vehicles into our fleet, and have even implemented an industry-leading AutoStore system to not only reduce emissions, but also improve order efficiency for our customers.

These are just a few things we’re doing to reduce the harm to our planet.

Innovation and training

We are constantly innovating to reach our sustainability goals and create a greener future for all.

We deliver regular training to our team to ensure they are efficient within their role, and have invested substantial amounts into improving our carbon footprint and delivering on excellence.

What we’re doing

DCC, as well as the wider Workwear Uniform Group, recognise the need to protect the natural environment. Keeping our environment clean and unpolluted is beneficial to us all.

Apart from legal obligations, our company has commited to proactively protect the environment.

Examples of relevant activities include:

• Recycling obsolete clothing through our recycling partner.
• Investing in electric/hybrid vehicles
• Using environmentally-friendly technologies and packaging.
• Internal office recycling – EveryCanCounts.
• Promotion of the National Hard Hat Recycling Scheme.
• Sending obsolete shoes (fit for purpose) to ShoeAid to pass on to those in need.
• Re-use cardboard boxes (where possible) for the dispatch of our goods and limit the use of plastics.
